Child-Friendly Asia. Part Three

Indonesia

For families who love the convenience of the all-inclusive holiday, look no further than the Club Med Villages in Bali and Ria Bintan. Known for their “never a dull moment” action-packed holidays which include a wide array of sports and entertainment as well as food and drink, few kids clubs come as well-organized and as varied as Club Med’s, with the Petit Club Med (for two to three-year-olds), Mini Club Med (four to ten-year-olds; workshops range from circus acts to rollerblading) and the Juniors’ Club Med (for teens from 11 to 17). A fun-filled Family Festival and new Baby Welcome Service for tots under 2 are new additions to the Indonesian Club Med villages, the …

Child-Friendly Asia. Part Two

Thailand

Phuket has become an island for families, with the sheer number of kid-friendly resorts massive! First in line is the Holiday Inn Resort, which has dedicated family and kids rooms. The kids suites, pictured above, come with the coolest themed furniture (my daughter would kill for that boat bed) and are equipped with games, cds, playstations and toys. Think warm sunny skies, and enough kid-friendly activities and amenities so that parents wont be needing a holiday-after-a holiday when they get home. With parent pampering in sync with kid-friendliess, these resorts below will have the entire family having the holiday of their dreams.

More Parents Are Traveling With Kids

In my last trip abroad I noticed that there just seemed to be more children everywhere. In the plane, in the airport, and even in our hotel (the Four Seasons, Singapore), the lobby seemed to be full of little ones, running around the beautifully decorated rooms, and the staff actually seemed amused by their antics.
When I was growing up in the 70’s, children were more of the “seen and not heard” nature, not preferred guests at some of the world’s best hotels. I remember travelling around Europe at age 10. My sister and I were lucky if the hotel had a kiddie pool, forget about special kids menus or ‘welcome gifts’ with personalised giant …
