Pet Friendly Accommodations

There are plenty of accommodations nowadays that claim to be pet-friendly. However, the term is used very vaguely and it can mean anything from simply an establishment that allows owners to bring their pets along to one that has plush pet services like pet spas and pet sitters on call. As a pet owner you know the needs of your own pet and you might not need to stay in “the best” pet-friendly hotel/motel but you, of course, want to stay in a place that would be able to cater to your pet(s)’ needs.
Different pets have different needs and different owners have different preferences, so before choosing your accommodations make sure that the place you choose will fit you and your pet’s needs. You would do well to consider the following questions/issues before making any reservations.

Thailand is one of the most popular summer destinations for people from all over the world today. This is quite understandable as Thailand has a wide variety of activities that caters to almost any preference imaginable. From city life to the wild to beaches, you can find these in Thailand.
Just a month ago, we went to Bangkok and its surrounding areas. One of my best experiences was a great mixture of the wild and safety – the Tiger Temple in Kanchanaburi. I actually heard about this place earlier this year while I was watching the National Geographic channel. There was this documentary about monks taking care of tigers somewhere in Thailand. If you have money to burn, and you have the opportunity to escape to your dream hotel, where would you go? In my case, of course, I will still always go for comfort… you’re not going to get me to pay money to camp out on a bedroll in the ground with no hot water! But that doesn’t mean I’m not up for an adventure. Some of the hotels on my wish list will definitely guarantee an experience to remember! Allow me to share with you my faves. I still remember with fondness the numerous times we went camping when I was a kid. Though the memories of the activity are quite vivid, I can barely remember the last date that I went camping. Many adults do not really relish staying for hours on the plane. Even more adults (or kids for that matter) dread having to take a plane with a baby on board. Whether or not the baby is theirs, adults know that having these cute little babies can turn a plane ride into a very difficult trip. Planning a family trip requires more preparation than planning a romantic getaway, after all you need to consider your kids AND your pets.
The choice of accommodations is one aspect that is really hard to organize, especially if your child has special needs and your pet is not that common or is plain big. The ideal place to stay is of course an establishment that welcomes children and pets and at the same time actually offers facilities and services that will make the stay more enjoyable not only for the kids and the animals but you as well. Traveling with children is not easy, we know that. Yet imagine traveling with children under the age of 5! That would even be harder, wouldn’t it? However, a lot of people have done it (and are doing it) so why can’t you? Here are a few tips to help you handle hotel rooms and your babies.
For starters, you have to make sure that the hotel you are going to has taken steps to consider the needs of and precautions for toddlers. If they haven’t, there isn’t really much that you can do to baby-proof the hotel room. So from the beginning, ask the hotel staff about such matters.
