Helens’ Got Game
Posted by Jen as Australia NZ, Travelogger

The month of March draws many tourists in St. Helens Tasmania, Australia. Known as the game-fishing capital of Tasmania, St. Helens gives fishing enthusiasts more than their fair share of catch. From the number of different beaches around Georges Bay and the long stretch from St. Helens to St. Helens Point, there seems to be no end to St. Helens natural beauty.
With a population of around 2,000, St. Helens is considered to be the largest town in the east coast of Tasmania. The people there are very proud of their crayfish and oysters. Local restaurants known for the quality of their abalone, flounder and scallops also abound.
However, fishing isn’t the only thing attracting visitors to …

Posted by Jen as Eco-Friendly, Europe, Travelogger
One of the best ways to help save the environment is to become a volunteer. In the Zoological Society in London (ZSL) Zoo, they are in need of just that. In fact, they have just opened up applications for anyone who is over 18 and wants to discover a different side of life. In ZSL, there are many ways in which people can volunteer.

Family Vacation Destinations That May Not Have Crossed Your Mind
Posted by Noemi as Destinations, Cruises, Americas, Family

What is the first thing that comes to mind when talking about kid-friendly vacations? If you are anything like majority of families, you’d probably say something related to Disney. There is no doubt about it – Disney is the premier choice for kid-oriented vacations. However, I also have never doubted that there are countless other destinations out there – one only has to look.
Apparently, John Frenaye, a travel columnist at MSNBC has the same idea. He published an article entitled “6 sure-fire destinations for family.” In it, he details 6 destinations that may not be the first choice for families when it comes to vacations. Let’s take a …

Visit the Zoological Society in London Zoo
Posted by Jen as Eco-Friendly, Europe, Travelogger

There cannot be enough animal conservation and protection charities in this world. I have recently discovered the existence of the Zoological Society in London (ZSL). Although this organization has been around for ages, many people all over the world (especially those who do not exactly live in Europe) have not heard about it.
I have a soft spot for animals so it always excites me to share something like this with you. The ZSL Zoo is located near Regent’s Park London, England and is open everyday except for Christmas Day. It’s not an easy feat to maintain a zoo so this one automatically deserves a thumbs up and a pat on the back (I should know. Where I …

Best Travel Sites Continued
Posted by Noemi as Website

Tripit
This web site brings back the old days when you can just leave all the work up to your travel agent. Times Online’s review says:
The site brings together flight, hotel and car rental bookings to supply a single itinerary, and adds information such as daily weather forecasts, local maps, city guides and updates from other useful travel websites.
These include Seatguru, for its advice on getting the best spot on the aircraft, Flickr, for its travel photos so you can get a sneak preview of where you’re going, or find photos you’d like to take yourself, and Eventful, to see what’s going on in your chosen destination.
The only thing is that …

Without a doubt, the Internet has made traveling for everyone a much easier job. American Airlines’ Offers: Guatemala City
Posted by Noemi as Around The World, Air Travel, Americas

I know it may seem a bit too early for you to start planning your summer vacation at this point but it does pay to plan way ahead of time. Many times, you can get cheaper deals at better terms when you book early. American Airlines has the same idea in mind and are offering great deals for those who book their vacation early. Mind you, they are not just offering good deals on flights but on whole travel packages as well.
The American Airlines Vacations web site is currently offering several travel packages. The one that caught my interest the most is the offer for Guatemala …
Feb|13|2008 Posted by Noemi as Tips, Family Feb|11|2008 Posted by Noemi as Announcements, Around The World, News, Asia, Family I have always been a fan of Thailand, most especially after that week-long trip that we had there last year. When I got an e-mail from the TAT, promoting their new campaign, I headed directly to their Amazing Thailand web site. What I saw there made me long for the streets of Bangkok and the surrounding countryside once …
Babies Travel Lite

Do you have babies in the family? Have you ever traveled with them on vacation? I think one of the biggest impediments to going on vacations is having a child who is aged less than 6. Having a baby usually means that parents would have a not so convenient time on vacation so they just opt not to go. However, with the many conveniences that are available to us these days, it would be a shame not to go on vacation just because you have a baby. In fact, taking your baby (or babies for that matter) on vacation with you could very well be one of …
