American Airlines’ Offers: Guatemala City

Guatemala City
I know it may seem a bit too early for you to start planning your summer vacation at this point but it does pay to plan way ahead of time. Many times, you can get cheaper deals at better terms when you book early. American Airlines has the same idea in mind and are offering great deals for those who book their vacation early. Mind you, they are not just offering good deals on flights but on whole travel packages as well.

The American Airlines Vacations web site is currently offering several travel packages. The one that caught my interest the most is the offer for Guatemala City. Guatemala City is the largest city in Central America and presents a lot of wonderful new experiences for everyone in the family.

If you book through the site, you can avail of great rates – not only for the flight but for the accommodations and tours as well. Is $64 per night per person good enough for you? Well you can avail of this through their current promo. What can you do in Guatemala City? You can opt to stay in the city itself and experience the local culture there though I would suggest visiting Antigua, a historic town outside of the city. You can also opt to visit Lake Atitlan and the Reserva Natural Atitlan. Then you can go to Tikal Natural Park and wonder at the Mayan ruins. If you feel like shopping for crafts, then Chichicastenango is the place to go.

    Hey,

I have a great link for a video profile on a photographer and travel writer who has just finished a new travel guidebook called Moon: Guatemala. His name is Al Argueta and he is a child of Guatemalan parents and has spent much of his life in that country. He currently works and resides in Round Rock, Texas, right outside of the capital city of Austin. Here is a link to the video from the website of the show Docubloggers on the PBS station KLRU in Austin, Texas. Enjoy!
