NeverLand of Lost Baggage

Have you ever wondered where lost bags go to? Is there a black hole where lost luggage turn up in an alternate universe or a different world? Well, actually, there is a place where unclaimed baggage end up, and it’s not in Oz. It’s called the Unclaimed Baggage Center, and it’s located in Scottsboro, Alabama. It’s a great bargain center for treasure hunters or serious shoppers in search of the unique and the original.

According to their website, the items sold in the store come from the airlines, which declare baggage as unclaimed after at least 90 days of intensive tracking. Chances are, these are bags with torn or lost tags, or bags which the owners have accepted compensation for (in which case, they’ll lose all claim to the contents). The …

Great Gifts, Small Packages Part 02

Still on that journey of looking for that special gift? Coming from my last post, here’s suggestion number two! Go designer on bags! While they don’t exactly come in such small packages, they are definitely budget-friendly and thoughtful.

After all, luggage is one thing a lot of travelers take for granted. They have the tickets, the reservations, the kids! And then they have that ratty luggage or that boring trolley. That’s where you, as the good friend, come in and help them be even more excited about their trip.

People don’t have the same personality or outlook on life. To avoid making the mistake of giving them the same boring old bags you were trying to get rid of in the first place, why not choose something that reflects their personality? That way, it would give your present a more personal touch.

For example, a real girly-girl would probably love something like this:…

Making Travel Plans Online, Part 1

As an online travel agent, I know firsthand how a lot of people have switched from booking with traditional travel agencies, to making their travel plans online with a travel website. Understandable, since there are a lot of advantages to booking online.

First, and probably the most important consideration, is the price. Airline & cruise tickets, hotel & car rates, and even some local activities & services are usually cheaper online than thru your regular travel agent. That’s because online travel agencies usually get special rates due to the large volume of travelers who use their site. They also have a lower ratio of travel agents to customers, since most customers usually book on their own. These are savings they can pass on to their customers.

Another advantage is that most of these sites are very user-friendly. You don’t have to …

Car Rental Insurance: Requirement or Scam?

When people find themselves in other countries, the usual recourse of looking for available cars for rent is one of the immediate things that they would settle before going to their accommodation place. One thing that car rental employees would ask from their clients is that of insurance deposits in case something unwanted would happen to the vehicle being rented.

Car Rental Insurance

Many see this as a scam to allow car rental agencies to add to their income. While people may choose to be safe and sound drivers, unforeseen events such as minor accidents to the car may occur without notice. Availing of insurance helps take away the worries, although some clients would choose to forego with it to avoid unnecessary expenses during their stay.

But sometimes, being a cheapskate when it comes to the small things may end up being a need. …

Never Over pack Your Luggage on Vacation

Things to wear and bring when a person would want to travel in areas such as London, England, or Germany should be properly defined so that a person would not end up bringing stuff they would not even wear. Depending on the length of his stay, underwear, shirts, pants and shoes are the basic necessities to which a person is not expected to change after every 4 hours to meet up with people or simply have a look around.

Packed Luggage

Some people exaggerate when they travel. It comes to a point where people seeing them may ask are you leaving for good? Funny as it may seem, some people are just not in their right senses if they are not thinking straight or are perhaps pressed for time.

Add to this that over-packing luggage is hard to pull or push …
