Wake Up In A Different European City Everyday…

Doesn’t that sound like a dream? I would surely want to have this experience at least once in my life. Well, alright, maybe more than once. Yet is it even possible? You bet! The only thing that I see that is hindering me (and many others, perhaps) from living this dream is the cost. Then again, that’s what savings are for. We just have to set this goal and start saving our way to a European cruise.
I actually saw this ad in Yahoo Travel for Norwegian Cruise Line and what they call “freestyle cruising.” So what is this all about?
The idea of …

Easter Holidays in the UK
Posted by Noemi as Cities, Cruises, Destinations, Europe, Family, Festivals, Getaways, Hotels, Transport

In the last post, I wrote about some Easter vacation ideas for families in the US. Of course, the US isn’t the only country that celebrates this holiday – our cousins across the ocean do so as well! Here are some great holiday ideas in the UK. Whether you live in Britain or not, it is always worth traveling to that part of the world for a break.
Tour the countryside in a camper van
You do not need to own one in order to do this – there are plenty of camper van rentals all throughout the UK. The best thing about renting a camper …

Family Vacation Destinations That May Not Have Crossed Your Mind
Posted by Noemi as Americas, Cruises, Destinations, Family

What is the first thing that comes to mind when talking about kid-friendly vacations? If you are anything like majority of families, you’d probably say something related to Disney. There is no doubt about it – Disney is the premier choice for kid-oriented vacations. However, I also have never doubted that there are countless other destinations out there – one only has to look.
Apparently, John Frenaye, a travel columnist at MSNBC has the same idea. He published an article entitled “6 sure-fire destinations for family.” In it, he details 6 destinations that may not be the first choice for families when it comes to vacations. Let’s take a …

Shiver Me Timbers!

In honor of today’s International Talk Like a Pirate Day (ITLAPD), here’s a tour suggestion you might not have tried. Buccaneer Queen Pirate Ship Cruises offers only the best pirate tour for kids of all ages. This also includes adults who are kids at heart! The Buccaneer Queen is a 96-foot long ship that has been used in movies and TV commercials. It currently takes people along for a ride around Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
The Whale Watching Tour will have you up very early in order to catch the beautiful gray whales of Cabo. These creatures migrate to the Sea of Cortez every winter in order to calve. You’d better get your cameras ready for this experience!
The Snorkeling Tour will …

Best Cruises for Teens
Posted by Noemi as Cruises, Family
All of us have gone through the teenage years and we know how it is like to be a teenager. During their children’s teen years, parents probably experience one of the most sensitive periods in their lives. Even in planning a vacation, teens may need to have special considerations.
I’ve been focusing on cruises for families for the past week or so and not once have I really thought about special needs for teenagers. Finding the right activities for teens is not that easy as they are somewhere in between children and adults. The former group is probably a bit easier to please. Here are some ideas for the best cruises for teens.
Is your teenaged child …

Crystal Cruises
Posted by Noemi as Cruises, Family, Features, Transport

Another very popular name in the world of cruises is Crystal Cruises. They have actually been voted as the World’s Best Large-Ship Cruise Line for 12 years in a row! This award is given out by Travel + Leisure Magazine which asks its subscribers to vote for their cruise line of choice. That in itself should be a testament to the quality you will be getting with Crystal Cruises.
Of course, quality tends to come at a high price, doesn’t it? Well, if you compare their fees to other cruise lines, the difference is not that big really. Plus, if you avail of their promos, you might actually end up saving more.
For this …

Royal Caribbean Cruise

One of the major cruise companies in the United States, Royal Caribbean International has a good program for children in their family cruises. Realizing that the market for family cruises has grown considerably over the years – and is continuing to grow, actually – this cruise line offers quite an extensive array of activities for families with children.
Onboard, you can be sure that you and your children will have plenty of things to do without them asking every minute “Are we there yet?” They have ice-skating, karaoke, talent shows, bingo tournaments, and a family disco. Of course they have pools – some of which have special features such as the FlowRider, which …

More Tips For a Family Cruise
Posted by Noemi as Cruises, Family, Tips, Transport
Though there are quite a number of choices when it comes to cruise lines, you have to realize that not all of them are equal when it comes to family travel. That is why I provided the list of questions that you can ask in a previous post. Here are some more considerations that you may want to go through if you are planning a family cruise.
Look for newer ships
This does not mean that older ships are not seaworthy or anything like that. It is simply the fact that newer ships are bigger and more likely have been designed with families and children in mind.
Look for family-friendly stateroom options
What does this mean? Ask for discounted prices …

Best Cruises For Families
Posted by Camica as Around The World, Cruises, Family
Just recently, I wrote about the advantages of going on a cruise for a family vacation. While there are a lot of cruise lines with different destinations to choose from, not all cruise lines are family-friendly. Some, especially the “luxury” cruises, actually discourage kids in favor of the adult’s convenience. To make it easier to search for the best cruise for you, let me give you five cruise lines that are geared towards family.
Before I start, just a quick run-through of the features that define these cruises as “family cruises”. First all of these cruise lines offer age-specific programs that divide kids into age ranges. This is a plus, especially for …

Cruise Happy
Posted by Camica as Around The World, Cruises, Family, Travelogger
It happens every time. You’ve saved up for your vacation. Dreamed about it. But you find yourself getting more stressed just planning your vacation. Everybody’s idea of a perfect vacation are different. Your 6-year old wants to spend her whole summer on the water. Your teenage son only seems to detach himself from his computer if it involves a radical sport. Your teenage daughter’s idea of heaven is living at the mall. And dad wants to make sure all of his kids imbibe some culture this-time-I-mean-it! What do you do with the baby? Where do you take grandma & grandpa? Mommy just wants a day-off from all of …
