Pictures from the Land of Smiles

I know I said that my previous post was going to be the last one about Thailand. Yet one comment to that post encouraged me to write one more - still about the country in general but with eye candy this time. Here is what I would say is my all time favorite Thai dish:
The chicken pandan is actually something that I have tasted before (not in Thailand though) and I already liked it. The one I had at the floating restaurant on the River Kwai is by far the best. I was also able to try this dish in other restaurants and though they were good, the River Kwai one was the best.
This is a shot of one the biggest floating markets near Bangkok, the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market (not sure about the spelling):
This one is really a big tourist attraction. For that reason alone you should at least visit and see the things on display. The boat ride around the canal is quite an experience too. However, I really don’t suggest buying much there as the prices are way jacked up.
Now for the highlight: the tigers at the Tiger Temple.
This tiger - just like most of the others were mainly sleeping and groggy. There are some people who suspect that they might be drugged but I really could not tell. All I can say is that I was happy that they didn’t seem interested in having me for a meal. Look at how big this tiger’s head is!
Happy viewing!

03|Jul|2007Let me know how you find it Zahir. I also liked the chicken pandan at Cabbages and Condoms somewhere in the Sukhumvit area.
