For childless couples who have always been lovers of the road – or the sky or the sea, for that matter – having a child makes things quite different. Though they may still get the opportunity to travel, going on trips is certainly a different experience with a kid. Take note, I said different but not worse. Admittedly, having a kid with you on a trip gives you a new perspective and new exciting adventures. Yet sometimes, you just can’t deny that traveling with children can be a headache. Here are some of the most common “headaches” of family travel and their cures as well.
Romantic second (third, fourth, and so on) honeymoon…
…but with a toddler or two. Is it even possible to get away to enjoy your nth honeymoon with a child? The best course of action I can think of is to find a trusted babysitter to take care of your child while you are away. Of course, this would only work for weekend and short trips. If you are planning on going on a week-long trip or longer, then it would be best for you to bring your child along. This is where the fun begins. I think the most important consideration for you would be to find a destination which offers excellent babysitting and children’s programs. This way, you can balance your time together and still spend time with your child.
Big family vacation…
…does it mean big bucks as well? Naturally, you would have to spend more when you have more people in the family. However, it does not have to be all that expensive. There are countless affordable options available to big families. More so, you can even probably get discounts due to the number of bookings you have to make. Consider ski resorts, ranches, camping, hiking – all these offer good family fun for a good price.
