Great Christmas Reads

One of the greatest treasures that our parents have imparted to us is the love for reading. My earliest memories include bed time stories and reading through the weekend. I still recall going on trips and making sure that I had my favorite books packed. This Christmas, why don’t you make sure that your children have their own mini-library of books to choose from while on the road? Here are some of the best children’s books that you can choose from.

The Night Before Christmas

Every child should read this classic Christmas story. It dates back to 1823.

The Polar Express

We just talked about train rides in my last post – need I say more? If your children have not read this classic, then it is about time you got them a copy.

How the Grinch Stole Christmas

Dr. Seuss is a must for any child – why not for Christmas?

The 12 Days of Christmas

This book is suitable for younger children. As with the other books, there are different editions and versions but I rather like the pop up book. I am sure your young children will enjoy it as well.

The First Christmas
Again, there are countless versions of this story – I am sure that you have told your children this many times as well. Yet there is a good version by Tomie de Paola that I would recommend. This book also features pop ups, which are perfect for young children.

A Charlie Brown Christmas
Pop culture is not always bad and I just love Charlie Brown. If you do too, you might want to share this love with your children.
