Posted by Noemi as Around The World, Destinations, Family, Festivals, Food and Drink, Getaways, United States

As the winds continue to blow and the snow to fall, there is one thing in the minds of those who have a sweet tooth – it’s maple sugar season! Old and young alike look forward to this time of the year to get a taste of this wonderfully sweet syrup made right in front your very eyes. In the coming weeks, there are going to be a lot of activities focusing on maple syrup and its making.
If you are anywhere near Vermont, you may want to head on over to the 7th Annual Vermont Maple Open House Weekend. This will be held from the 28th of March to the 30th of March. You can take the whole family along with you and maybe even engage in other activities like skiing – but most definitely drop by the Maple Open House. There are a lot of B&Bs in this area – most, if not all, are family friendly, so you don’t have to worry about your children.
Just be ready to do a lot of traveling if you want to visit as many sugarhouses as you can. There are A LOT of sugarhouses in Vermont and this Open House is actually the kick off the maple syrup season. As such, you can expect a flurry of activities in all the sugarhouses, where you can get to taste some of their offerings for free and of course, buy some more to take home with you.
