For those planning to stay more than one week, the best type of lodging might be the apartment hotel. An apartment hotel, also known as an apartelle is usually a serviced apartment complex that uses a hotel style booking system. Another variation is the condotelle, which rents out serviced condominiums. Booking an apartment hotel is similar to renting an apartment, but with no fixed contracts and occupants can check-out whenever they wish. There are usually no advances or deposits to be paid, unlike the traditional apartment.
Apartment hotels combine the flexibility of living in an apartment with the services found in a hotel. Prices may be more expensive than the common hotel room, but, in the long run, they tend to be cheaper than staying at hotels. That’s because apartment hotels are usually suite types, with a bedroom, bathroom, living and dining room, and kitchen. Apartelles are also more flexible about the number of occupants allowed per room. And since apartment hotels are fitted to be like complete homes, occupants can do the washing, cooking and cleaning if they want to.
Most suites usually include the luxuries found in a hotel room, such as cable TV, internet connection, quality furniture and toiletries. Unlike standard hotel rooms, however, they also come with a washer, dryer, dishwasher, cooker, oven, fridge, microwave oven, sink, cookware and dining ware. You can save a lot, for example, by cooking your own food then eating out (plus, you can prepare more nutritious dishes!) And laundry, which is usually a concern for those staying more than a couple of days, won’t be a problem since you’ll have your own washer, dryer and iron (as we all know, laundry done by the hotel isn’t a small expense). But if you want to savor your vacation and refuse to do any of the normal drudgery, staying in an apartment hotel will solve that as well, since they also offer all the services found in a hotel. You can have somebody to clean and do the laundry for you, then nip down to their restaurant for a quick bite.
