We just came back from a short summer trip where we discovered a great beach for families. The resort is called Tamaraw Beach Resort and it can be found in the Puerto Galera, off the coast of Batangas in the Philippines. Puerto Galera used to be the destination for many beach lovers until it became overcrowded. That is why we were pleasantly surprised with what awaited us at Tamaraw Beach.
Their accommodations have been designed to suit family needs – the rooms are huge and can fit up to 6 people (at least our room did). They also have family apartments that can fit 10 …

Posted by Noemi as Destinations, Tips, Family, Resorts

Several more days and we’ll be on our way to the beach! While waiting for that, let’s take a look at a few more beach safety tips.
Make sure that you stick to the designated swimming areas
Not all parts of beaches are safe for swimming. It would help if you chose a beach where majority of the area is safe for swimming. If you take the family to a beach where there are designated swimming areas, make sure that you emphasize the importance of staying at these areas. Taking it a step further, it would be best to keep a close eye on the children. Though they may be obedient …

More Ways To Discover Nearby Cities On A Budget
Posted by Noemi as Destinations, Tips, Cities

In the last post, I suggested either walking tours or bus tours as great ways to discover cities. They are not only cheap but they can also add a different flavor to your trip.
Another way to discover hidden sights and treasures in the city of your destination is to make full use of your concierge – or the people at the front desk. The chances are that these people will know the city by heart. They will also be used to dealing with people and ideally, they will be more than helpful to help you have a wonderful time in their city. Of course, discretion is required as …

We’ve said it time and again – going on vacation does not have to be expensive, even for the whole family. One of the things that you can do on a tight budget is to visit a nearby city and discover it for yourselves. I bet that if you took a look at the map, you would see a lot of cities within a couple of hours’ drive from where you live. More so, you probably have not really explored each and every one of them.
So why not consider visiting a nearby city sometime soon and consider that a short vacation for the family? Here are …

However, there is still a bit of time to sneak in a last skiing trip before the season ends for the year. Here are a few of the ski resorts that stay open till May.

Located near Banff in the Canadian Rockies, this ski resort stays open …

Broadway
If you have extra cash to spare and you like the theater, then Broadway should not be missed. Some say that you have never really seen what a play has to offer unless you’ve seen it in Broadway. Of course, you have to be ready to pay for that experience – tickets can easily cost over a hundred dollars, even for discounted ones! Alternatively, you can pick from New York’s countless theaters if you cannot afford Broadway – don’t fret, many of use can’t! Theaters abound in New York …
