Give Your Mother The Gift Of Travel

mothers_day_graphics_16Mother’s Day is around the corner. Have you gotten your mother a gift yet? Year in and year out, we celebrate this event to pay tribute to the woman who gave us life. Year in and year out, I hear, read, and see people trying to do their best to show just how much they love and appreciate their mothers. This year, what are you going to give your mom?

One of the best gifts in my eyes is the gift of travel. My mother has been retired for the longest time, but I will never forget just how hard she worked to raise my sister and I. Now that I am able, I try to give her the chance to visit places that she has never been to before.

This year, my sister and I decided to pool our resources together to send our parents on a week-long trip to the beach for Mother’s Day. It is also perfect timing for us since our parents are celebrating their 31st wedding anniversary 9 days after Mother’s Day. I know how much they appreciate being given the chance to have experiences that were not part of their lives when they were young.

Why don’t you do the same? I am sure that your mom will appreciate it as well.

Some tips in planning the trip:

-Plan in advance. It’s a bit late this year but you can plan the trip for later.
-Look for Mother’s Day deals to save some money.
-Make sure that you choose something that your mother likes, and not what you think she will like. Involve her in the planning and get her input.
