Go On Vacation On The Weak Dollar
Posted by Noemi as Around The World, Destinations, Tips

Are you thinking that with the dollar plunging down the way it is, you cannot afford to go on a vacation anytime soon? Well, you couldn’t be more wrong! Despite the recession and the weak dollar, your family can still enjoy a vacation somewhere really nice! All you need is to find the right destination where you can still get a bang for your buck.
Think halfway around the world – yes, it could actually be a good thing to go far. Of course, you should be prepared to pay a bit for the airplane tickets but that’s about it. Once you get to your destination, you will feel like a king. How so?
Many countries in Asia have currencies that are weaker than the dollar. Everything is comparative, of course. Take the Philippines, for example. It is an archipelago in Southeast Asia – they have some of the best beaches in the world. You can fly down there and get 41 of their currency for each dollar you have. The prices are very cheap as well. Hotels, food, and transportation are very affordable and with your dollars, you will actually feel and think rich for the duration of your stay!
Nearer to home is Mexico. The currency exchange rate as of this writing is about 10 Mexican pesos to a dollar. Mexico is known for many popular beach resorts that could be quite expensive but there are also a lot of alternative beach destinations that are friendlier on the wallet.
The trick is to find some destinations where you can get higher conversion rates and where the cost of living is cheaper.
