Summer time is almost here and I bet that you are planning to go on a vacation sometime soon, that is, if you have not made your plans yet. Have you taken a closer look at how much your vacation will cost you? You probably know in the back of your mind that there could be hidden costs to everything but you might not have taken the time to plan on how to deal with them as of yet. If so, I suggest doing so. With prices going up all over the place, it is but prudent to look for ways on how to slash a bit of your travel costs.
Have you booked your airplane tickets yet? If you have not, then I suggest looking at budget airlines first. More than considering budget airlines, be on the constant lookout for their promos. Most of the time, these airline offer discount fares on top of their already cheaper fares. Some budget airlines even offer 0 fares. That is, they only charge taxes and fuel charges. If you search for tickets way before your trip, the better your chances of getting these promos and saving a LOT on your airfare.
More than the airfare itself, you might want to check the airlines’ policy on luggage. The norm is that you are entitled to one carry on luggage and one check in luggage (within a certain weight limit). If you need to check in another bag, then you would have to pay a considerable fee for that. I suggest making sure that you know what the exact limits are and packing as light as you can. You just might be surprised at how easy it is to pack light!
