Travel Skoot Your Way

I have always been a fan of online maps ever since they came out. I think that the best – and many would agree, I suppose – of these maps would be Google Maps. If it’s 3D that you’re after, I would have to say Google Earth, though. However, Google Maps is sometimes more intuitive and easier to use. It really comes in handy when you are in an unfamiliar area and you want to get your bearings. Trust me, we have used this so many times that I can’t even count.

Anyhow, a reader brought a Google Maps mashup to our attention. Dubbed Travel Skoot, this mashup allows users to create their own itineraries. For example, if you are planning on visiting a specific city and you have come up with a plan on which places to visit and when to visit them, you can put all the information on Travel Skoot. Time, date, and place – all this information can be found in one easy interface!

I think that it is a cool way to organize your trips, especially if you are doing your traveling in groups. This way, all you need to do is map out the places you are going to visit and anyone in the group can check out the relevant information anytime. Another thing that came to mind about Travel Skoot is that if you were to travel alone, you can use it to inform whoever it is you need to inform of you whereabouts at specific dates and times. Brilliant, isn’t it?
