Best Places To Go For Thrills

February 6, 2010 By noemi

I am a very mild mannered person who does not go out seeking adventure on a daily basis. Indeed, when I travel, I want to be as comfortable as I can afford to be. I do know, however, that there are a lot of people who can’t get enough of an adrenaline rush. If you are one of those people, then you better check out Lonely Planet’s new book – 1000 Ultimate Experiences. I haven’t had the chance to go through the whole thing but I have had a sneak preview of the thrills to be had, courtesy of Reuters. If I were to choose, here are the top 3 thrills I’d at least think of trying out.

Running with the bulls in Pamplona, Spain. I have heard and read about this festival since I was a child, and recently a friend told me that he experienced it for himself. Now this guy is a total adrenaline junkie and is not afraid of animals, so he had a blast. I don’t know if I can actually do it, but it’s worth thinking about.

Swimming with dolphins in New Zealand. Let me tell you that I am not a very good swimmer so this is probably a bad idea, but dolphins are supposed to be friendly to us humans, so why not?

Riding a motorcycle-taxi in Thailand. Yes! I have actually tried this. And no, it is not that bad. I guess coming from the Philippines has its advantages! For Westerners, it might be the adrenaline rush that you have been yearning for.

If these are too lame for you, check the book out for yourself and make your own list!
