You’ve likely spent your Friday in the office thinking about all the excellent situations you could get yourself into over the weekend. Traveling to a new city is only one of the cool situations you could arrange for yourself, but you have to know which places will make the most impact.
The U.S. has 50 states from which to choose your destination, making it difficult to narrow down the best experiences. The good news is that the work has already been done for you. Here is a brief look at a few of the best U.S. cities to visit on your weekend excursion.
Scottsdale, Arizona
Scottsdale lies just outside of the state’s capital city, Phoenix. Just a short drive away from the sprawling city, Scottsdale offers a more relaxed way of life. You’ll fight looking at the homes for sale in the area, as there are more than 200 golf courses and even more spas.
Scottsdale embraces rest and relaxation, but there are also plenty of things to do. Try visiting Frank Lloyd Wright’s “Taliesin West,” and see what a famed architect can create. Get a new look at the city from a hot air balloon on one of the Float Balloon Tours offered in the area.
Boston, Massachusetts
Bean Town is home to more than 50 different colleges, so you can safely say that it is the ultimate college town. If you’re looking for a weekend full of fun and partying, you won’t miss out by taking a weekend in Boston.
Not to mention, the food and drink options in the area are as unique as they come. Try tasting Boston oysters, lobster rolls, and some local clam chowder. Catch a game at Fenway Park, and head home fulfilled at the end of your weekend.
Chicago, Illinois
You absolutely have to check out the public transit opportunities in Chicago. The famed “L” will take you pretty much anywhere you want to go around the city. Check out Wicker Park, catch a Cubs game, or get in touch with nature at the Lincoln Park Zoo.
San Diego, California
San Diego is so beautiful that it’s coastline and perpetually gorgeous weather sell the destination all on their own. However, there is more to San Diego than its sunshine and waves.
Check out Balboa Park via scooter, or hike around the Maple Canyon Trail. Either way, you’ve got to get outside while you’re in San Diego. Go ahead and dedicate a full day to beach time, but make sure you spend time elsewhere too.
Seattle, Washington
Contrary to popular belief, it’s not always raining in Seattle. There are plenty of sunshiny days in the city, and there is lots to do outside. You can enjoy the convergence of salty sea air and evergreen forests with the distant view of snow-capped mountains.
