Still More Stay-cation Ideas

August 29, 2008 By noemi

In my quest to look for more stay-cation ideas, I ran across a lot of web sites and blogs which provided tons and tons of information. One of the best sites that I visited is called (you guessed it) Staycation Idea. Here are some of the ideas I picked up from there.

County Fair Time
From the blog:
“The Austin Daily Herald and the Mower County Fair Board has introduced a new term “Fair-cation”. Which, you guessed it, means going on a vacation at the county fair.”

Though the county fair featured in the blog has ended, I am sure that there are countless fairs going on all over the country all year round. Just look and see if you can find one around the time that you are going to have your stay-cation. I think this is especially fun for the children, who might not have the chance to enjoy such activities as often as they would like to.

Go B&B-ing
From the blog:
“So why not trying stay at a bed and breakfast?

I remember when I was young, one of my most memorable vacations was staying at a Amish Bed and Breakfast in Berlin, Ohio. As a kid, I enjoyed the fact that it felt like you were visiting a long lost relative’s home. I loved meeting and talking to the owner’s of the house and also the other guests. It is a much warmer, friendly environment than a hotel chain.”

Those are only two of the most appealing ideas for me. I suggest visiting the blog for more!
