May 19, 2007 By hannahgrace

The focus is usually on the things needed DURING the vacation AT the vacation site itself. What people usually overlook is planning about the place that will be left behind – the house.

Many a vacation has been marred by a worried mom who can’t remember whether some appliance was left on or whether a prize plant will die due to lack of water. Appliance Checklist – Make a checklist of all your electronic and gas appliances, including the lights. The last thing you should do before locking your doors is to look at that checklist to ensure that all the plugs have been pulled and everything is turned off.

Security Measures – Double check the windows and locks and make sure the alarms are turned on. Ask a trusted neighbor or friend to check on the house every now and then.
