Not everyone has the luxury of having family to go vacationing with. Sometimes you might have friends that can come along. However, at times a solitary vacation can be the best vacation ever.
Vacationing alone doesn’t have to be depressing. It really is what you make of it. Going away by yourself allows you to do all of the things you want to do, and see all of the things you want to see, without worrying about whether the people, or person, with you are having a good time as well.
If you are the outdoorsy type going camping or on a hike may be the ideal solitary vacation. If you take all of the provisions with you needed for protection and survival you don’t have to worry about safety. You should let someone know where you are going though and when you plan to be back, just in case something were to happen (which you should do no matter what kind of vacation you are taking).
If you’re not really a nature lover maybe you’ll want to take a trip to a big city you’ve never been to before, or even a quaint small town. Get a room in a high rise or in a bed and breakfast and enjoy all of the things a large city or small town has to offer.
Maybe you’ll enjoy going to a club or just sitting down for a drink and watching the TV in a dive bar. Or maybe you’ll enjoy shopping at small antique shops. You never know what treasures you’ll find in an area away from home.
Take A Cruise
Why not take a cruise to someplace special and awaken the adventurer within. You’ll learn more about yourself when you take an adventurous trip alone, and it allows you to get away, have fun, and maybe even meet new friends. Make sure you take a lot of photos (which are much cheaper than a visit to the souvenir shop).
Visit A Museum
Not all people enjoy history or art. If you do, maybe your next vacation should be to one or more of the museums you’ve been longing to visit. Go alone so that you can enjoy all there is to see within that beautiful historic place. By going alone you can take as long as you want to explore each exhibit.
Take In A Show
You could also take in a show. This is great if you are on a mini vacation or a staycation as well. See the broadway show, check out the opera, or simply go to a movie. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with taking in a show on your own, and this way you don’t have to worry about someone whispering in your ear the whole time.
