Sometimes the desire for travel doesn’t mean it’s actually going to happen. There are budget considerations, time considerations, family considerations, and every other possible kind of obstacle that can get in your way of actually going somewhere on a physical journey. However, you shouldn’t let that stop you from enjoying the idea of travel!
There are plenty of simulation methods, and some of them even have aspects for the senses that are better than the true experiences! Or at least some of them have additional skills to learn or situations to handle. Think about aviation or driving simulators, and then immersive gaming or ASMR scenarios, and then there’s just good old TV if you have a good screen and some decent speakers.
Aviation Simulation
You might not be flying anywhere anytime soon, but that doesn’t mean you can’t use a good aviation simulator setup to not only get your blood pumping, but to learn about aviation technology and terminology as well. With just a tiny amount of setup and a low cost, you can be in the cockpit of all different kinds of planes, actually doing the flying instead of being flown in the crowded passenger sections of a real plane.
Driving Simulators
And you can buy awesome driving simulators to play around with the idea of driving not just on long distances across the country, but to have the experience of being in actual races or in off-road situations, but obviously with none of the dangers. The worse that can happen when you crash on a simulator is your friend right next to you will win the race. Head to an arcade if you want some crazy racing experiences as well.
Immersive Gaming
With new immersive virtual reality gaming gear now on the market, the idea of travel has taken on a new feel as well. You can go to familiar places, or work inside of puzzle games, or really go into terrifying (but exciting!) new realms as game designers get more and more creative and detailed with their productions.
ASMR Journeys
A lesser-known way to travel just mentally but completely immersed is through ASMR journeys. In a quiet environment, put on a pair of high-quality headphones, and you can close your eyes and be led through virtual journeys with sound effects so real that there’s no difference between having an experience of travel and just being in the comfort of your own home.
Well-Produced TV Programs
And honestly, would your rather go on a single, expensive jungle safari, or be treated to whatever aspects of that journey you want visually? With a good TV, some good speakers, and a well-produced show, you can travel to exotic places all around the world, and then fall asleep in your favorite easy chair.
