All Inclusives – Busting Myths

August 20, 2007 By noemi

As early as it may sound, I am already starting to plan for a trip in December. I have actually been thinking of this since we got back from our trip to Thailand. Though I have not decided on the specific place yet, I encountered all inclusive offers in almost every web site I visited.

That prompted me to consider going all inclusive for our next trip. Yet being the skeptical person that I am, I did some research on the nature of all inclusive offers and realized that not all such offers are that great. For one, they could be surrounded by such hype that one can be blinded by it.

One such myth that I busted is the idea that all inclusive resorts are perfect for the whole family to spend a lot of time together because they have something for all ages. So say, if you have a 4-year old, a 10-year old, and a 15-year old, you would have no problems keeping each child occupied – not to mention you and your spouse!

While it is almost always true that all inclusive resorts have something for everyone, you may be disappointed in the “spending a lot of time together” part. Not that I have had this experience myself, but based on the accounts of people who have, it seems that children tend to spend more time with newly found peers. As such, you might end up spending more time apart than together. If this is your main reason for going all inclusive, you might want to consider other cheaper options.
