Hotel Wish List

June 25, 2007 By Camica

If you have money to burn, and you have the opportunity to escape to your dream hotel, where would you go? In my case, of course, I will still always go for comfort… you’re not going to get me to pay money to camp out on a bedroll in the ground with no hot water! But that doesn’t mean I’m not up for an adventure. Some of the hotels on my wish list will definitely guarantee an experience to remember! Allow me to share with you my faves. One caveat though, not all of these hotels are kid-friendly. And some of my picks require that I win the lottery first. Oh well, I can dream, can’t I?

  1. Penthouse Suite at Hotel Martinez in Cannes, France – this is one hotel suite that I’ll probably occupy in my dreams only. That’s because it has the dubious distinction of being the most expensive hotel suite in the world, with a nightly rate of $37,200. You’ll get four bedrooms, a private terrace with a Jacuzzi and sweeping views of the Mediterranean. Want to find out more about it? Check out their website, www.hotel-martinez.com.
  1. Jules’ Undersea Lodge in Key Largo, Florida – It’s the original undersea hotel, where suitably qualified divers must swim 21 feet below the surface to gain access to this 2 roomed hotel. It has a kitchenette, complete with refrigerator and microwave, as well as two separate bedrooms. The rate is $350 per night, which is a bargain considering the experience you’ll have.
  1. Magic Kingdom Walt Disney World Resort, Florida – Probably no other words can bring joy to a kid’s heart, than Disney. You can choose, which hotel you want, depending on your budget and on the theme. Plus, choosing a Disney Hotel will let you use the FastPass system, which helps you navigate around the parks more quickly. Guests at on-site lodgings also get in an hour early on Sunday and Thursday.
  1. NICKELODEON Family Suites, Orlando, Florida – Kids, tweens, teens and even adults love Nickelodeon. They’ll love the Nickelodeon Family Suites by Holiday Inn as well. Just seeing your parents get slimed will be worth it. But to add to the attraction, there’s an awesome water park, a court with multi-height basketball hoops and a mini-golf course, Studio Nick, and The Arcade, not to mention inter-acting with all your favorite Nicktoons.
  1. Burj Al Arab, Dubai – It may no longer be the most expensive hotel suite, but it still ranks in the top ten. This hotel gives new meaning to the words decadence and opulence. In fact, it’s even ranked by some as a 7-star hotel. Occupants of this 25th floor penthouse will have a private elevator and a private cinema. The highlight of this opulent suite is the circular, red canopied bed, which is mounted on a rotating platform and there is a circular Jacuzzi in the master bathroom, which has marble floors and a chaise lounge. All this luxury doesn’t come cheap, the price is $10,900 per night.

Check out the next 5 hotels in my list at my next post. Till next time!
