I thought I’d put in one more post before the year ends – and before we hit the road, with no certainty of getting a good connection to the Internet on New Year’s Eve. I just realized that I am taking for granted that we SHOULD travel for New Year. It’s just that I don’t get that many days off at work and the last 2 weeks in December is usually the only free time that I have. So why travel for the New Year? Why not just stay at home, like some people do, and welcome the year ahead in one’s comfort zone?
Though I do not place much stock on superstition, I do believe that it would be a good thing to welcome the New Year with some new experience that will help give you a more positive outlook in life. I believe that traveling and going to a place that you have never been to before is one way of doing so.
Now I am not saying that this is the only way to welcome the New Year but it surely is one of the things that you can do to help inject some freshness and vigor in your life. After all, we spend most of the 12 months in the year going about our daily lives, our routine businesses. This is one time in the year when you can leave your cares behind and just totally enjoy yourself. And what better way than to embark on an adventure – no matter how short?
That’s it for this year. To a great 2009!
